Physiotherapy is one of our core services here at Fortis Health & Wellbeing in Langham, Colchester. Physiotherapy helps to restore movement and function, as well as reduce pain, when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. It takes a holistic approach that involves the patient directly in their own care.

What might your physiotherapy session include?

Here at Fortis Health & Wellbeing we believe in a holistic approach to recovery, combining hands on treatments with essential self-management techniques and education. Your physiotherapy treatment with us will include some or all of the below:

  • A thorough subjective assessment, including taking a detailed history of your condition and past medical conditions - we always make sure we take the time to listen to our clients and ensure we fully understand your symptoms

  • Goal setting - it is important to use that we understand the reason you have come to see us and we understand what you would like to achieve from your treatment

  • Gait and mobility assessments

  • Postural assessment

  • Range of movement testing

  • Special tests to help guide our diagnosis

  • Palpation of the area in question

  • Discussion of diagnosis

  • Exercise therapy and rehabilitation including use of our equipment, thorough demonstrations and a comprehensive home exercise plan which will be tailored to each individual client

  • Manual therapy, soft tissue and joint mobilisation techniques

  • Taping

  • Ultrasound therapy

  • Compression therapy

  • Recommendation for any other possible treatment options e.g. injection therapy, sports massage therapy, scar therapy
